The Rest of the Story- Mary Had a little lamb

Mary had a little lamb,
Her Father shot it dead.
Then it went to school with her,
Between two hunks of bread.

Mary came home from school one day,
And declared she is now a vegetarian.
She considers, she then went on to say,
Anyone that eats meat is a barbarian.

I can imagine that in some cases growing up on a farm and realizing that you are eating your "pets" would turn a child into a vegetarian. Its an ending I personally would have never thought of, but it makes sense. Congratulations on your win in my contest.

Congratulations on your win. I enjoyed reading this creative write/great picture. When I was young, I would visit my aunt/uncle for a few weeks. They had a cow. I loved to rub/talk to her. After a few summers, I came & went out to see my friend. She was gone. I asked & she was in their freezer. Boy did I cry....... Have a blessed day...............

Loved your comment Paula. I am a vegetarian. I have been one since I was 15 years old and saw hundreds of sheep loaded into a truck. treading on each other , squashed to the limit, bleeding and bleating mercilessly. I never ate meat again. Thanks for your lovely comment

Clever words that crackle and pop. As I throw away my mutton chop! Dark and delectable. Robert

Someday, Mary will join the big world, and she'll meet vegetarians. That gun will surely come back out. The wee lamb.
