The Rest
Feeling it..to break it...to shut it down,
Remembering the sight and sounds,
God will bring back a memory to make you turn around,
To make you see what broke you down,
What ripped your heart right out of your chest,
That were just too painful to see and you thought you put to rest,
At that moment you must ask yourself did I really recover,
Or did I numb myself and lay to rest something I never discovered,
And why now and not then when I felt I needed it most,
To understand the implications of the feelings I hold,
When it's out of your control and can't fix it no matter how painful you must put it to sleep,
And literally while it's sleeping your mind and heart are more at ease,
Never dead... just not awakened until your heart can handle at best,
And so I totally believe God covers and protects our hearts when we have to put things to rest.
