The Red Rose

THE RED ROSE He loved me, because I asked him to He stayed, upon my wish But like all promises They one day come to divide He told a story of his future How he doesn’t regret his past Nothing about the present I told a different one of mine As night never seems to fail, darkness always seems to signal the end There were no words that should be said He knew we would never see each other again And I learned, with love The roses aren’t always red

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
