The Realities of Life Are So Humanly Cold

We dance to the tune of man

See fear in the palms of our hands

Hold the candle as steady as we can

Move forward with our lives

Hear reasons, witness lies

The belly of the beast we feed

Power, wealth, tyranny and greed.

Grains of sand on a beach we are

Waves can come so near from so far

Do we see that life is not what it seems?

Our minds compensate with our dreams

Innocence dies at the foot of the stair

The climb gets harder as we bear

Crushing blows to the core of our souls

Life is seen through different eyes as we grow

The realities of life are so humanly cold

Perhaps the story of man should never have been told.
