The Randomness of It All
Apparently I bring out the best in you
But you only see the best in me
And I can’t help but wonder what you would do
If you could see the worst in me
Would you
Run and hide or
Jump and glide
Out of your own self pride
Just to get away from me?
Would you
Swallow your fear
And just keep me near
Because you know I’m actually dear
Even the worst side of me?
Honestly it’s dark
Honestly it’s bleak
Honestly its lies
Honestly is meek
I’m not actually happy
Here on the inside of me
But you or anyone else
Would never see
The dark side of me
Because as the song goes
“Everybody’s got a Dark Side,
Do you love me? Can you love mine?”
But see the next line was wrong.
“Nobody’s a picture perfect,
But we’re worth it, You know that we’re worth it”
The problem is some people are
And many are not
The pretty girls
The skinny girls
The girls with the perfect hair
Are picture perfect compared to
The crazy girls
The heavy girls
The girls who don’t really care.
So here’s to the girls like me
Even though this is written to you
Let’s wake up late
And not do our hair
Pile on loads of makeup
Cause we don’t really care
Right?
Wrong.
We give that illusion,
Because if we did care we’d get hate
For trying so hard
But not making it to home plate
But if we don’t care we’re hipsters
We might be remotely cool
But in the end everyone has still gone
To Sunday school
The nice ones
The mean ones
The ones who won’t play
The naughty ones
The snot nose ones
And those who turn out gay
Unless you have parents
We don’t follow a religion
(Ha-ha lucky you
You get to make your own decision)
