The Race
Proud, ego - driven individuals
Send out their words in the summer's hot atmosphere
Democracy is messy
But it's the best we have
It has its enemies
on both left and right
But we must stand tall
and not let our institutions fall
Before the blasts of those
who would undermine our freedom
Tonight I will watch the debate
Between the candidates for governor
I think it matters
And I will proudly cast my ballot
As fall reaches out to us
