The Quest For Immortality

The Quest For Immortality To eternally shut age and frailty’s door Avert the fate to which we’re doomed That we may be, and never be of yore; All mortals’ phantasm from times of old So, do not waste on the inconsequential That, in which great possibilities abound Neither ever shackle your true potential And your faculties, err to utterly exploit That which is fleeting may not be saved That which may be saved is not fleeting And that, which all mortals have craved Is never in an elixir to be bought by gold But, if excellence in any passion you may Bestows greatness above most mortals Though you will return to the Earth’s clay You may forever live in pages and minds. What a beautiful poem Sandison. I think most people would like to live a little longer but immortality is an unreachable quest. Great write. Best regards, Jennifer.
