The Push
I guess I must have thought
if I pushed hard enough
you could help me walk
and I so wanted to run
If I could just make you see
then you would know what to do
if anyone could fix me
it would have to be you
Not thinking for a moment
if you were up to the task
consumed by my pain
I forgot to ask
Eventually I pushed
you to the edge it seems
I saw you on the ledge
but didn't hear your screams
So now please forgive me
for being so blind
for I see a distant image
inside of my mind
Of the person I long for
that I used to be
when I look at you
she's staring back at me
