The Purple Flaming Banana

Reading a new poem
Written late night
While fighting to sleep
Trying to stay awake
Finished as the sun rises above a distant mountain
Purple Flaming Banana
I look around and see people
Their eyes glazed over in confusion
What is the poem about?
Does it have a deep, hidden meaning?
Is the purple flaming banana love?
Does it mean anger, hatred or a twisted mind?
Was I on drugs?
Did I have way too much to drink?
What is the meaning of the purple flaming banana?
It was not love
It was not hate or anger
What was the meaning of a purple flaming banana?
It was just that
Nothing special
Nothing unique
Just a purple flaming banana
Nothing more
