The Proposal

You're the idea within my every rhyme The verses that make up my sonnet Your smile reminds me of the sunset As she kisses the horizon every time When i think of you my heart gives a chime Telling me to walk up to you and make a comment But reality was right before you in that very moment And all i now have is a fantasy which was never mine I have a proposal for you If we wind up single in twenty-twenty Let's get together 'Cause there's just a bit or few Of time which actually isn't plenty As the sands of time was buried in the weather

Will this poem has the 14 lines and rhyme scheme of an Italian sonnet it's meter is way off. Italian and English sonnets are written in iambic pentameter. That 10 syllables with a soft hard beat. To see an example I have one on my page and this site gives one as well. Only your 1st and 4th lines are in iambic pentameter. This poem could become an Italian sonnet with some reworking.
