The Promise

In the midst of all my daily sufferings
To His most holy vine I will always cling
For I have placed all of my joyous hope
In the true promise of my Lord and king

And though pain is so much a part of me
As the shining sun also a part of my day
I still rise up and thank my Lord above
With sweet succulent words of praise

My faith has really been greatly increased
Because from His living word I will not stray
And each day I will strive to lift Him high
Hoping he will always lovingly receive my praise

I will each day taste of the joys of heaven
Embracing the peace his love always brings
And my spirit's voice will ever praise him
With the words from my heart I joyfully sing.
