The Prize

In honor of this honorary honorarium
I'm thankful for this prize
And standing at this podium
I can't believe my eyes

It was in a waking dream, it simply must have been
How else on earth could it be
The stage was grand as ever had been seen
All dedicated to me

Thank you most of all my nearest
My ever understanding dearest
For always having been there
And always standing up for me

You saw my dream, you heard my cry
You helped me make it through
You stood behind me all the way
I owe it all to you

Tell us a tale, sing us a song
Serenade us to the sky
Softly touch our bleeding hearts
Make us laugh until we cry

Always beckoning to me
Reaching deep into my soul
Sowing dreams within my heart
Shiny stars and streets of gold

Thanks for standing by my side
In the kitchen and the halls
Always standing all around me
Forever thank you, my four walls

But have no fear, all is not lost
At the Smithy's bar and grill
The masses gather at the trough
Until they get their fill

So meet me there after the day
We'll share a line or two
We'll wine about each others woes
Next time you're feeling blue
