The Prettiest Cupcake

Let me share with you, if I may…. The craziest thing that happened to me today. You won’t believe a word I say… I promise you, you won’t. You may think my story is funny, But to little old me, I surely don’t. So here’s my story, from beginning to end. Here’s hoping I never go through that again. She put me in this crazy, hot oven to bake. Me, yes me, one deprived and unhappy little cake. Feeling the scolding heat around me, I began to bubble… And as I sat, watching the others, I knew I was in big trouble. From there, the door opened… The beginning of my new life. She placed frosting on me with a bright, silver knife. She decorated me with silly little candy jewels, And giggled as the rest of the batch looked like fools. It was the craziest thing I’ve ever been through, And what’s sad is there was nothing I could do. She then lifted me up from the pan, Slowly taking off my wrapper…. The breeze was unbearable, I tell you…. I wish I had hands to reach out and slap her. She opened her mouth with shiny white teeth inside. And when she took her very first bite… That was the moment the others cried. Because I was the prettiest cake in sight. Yet I was the first one that died.
