The Power of Words

Something to think about

Words are power

They can cut like a knife

Or they can uplift

Someone’s life

Words are strong

They have a meaning

Whether the truth or a lie

They can be convincing

Choose your words carefully

Is what mom always said

Think before you speak

Is what she embedded in your head

Something you say

Can change a person’s life

You can make a wrong

Turn into a right

Speak from your heart

Is what grandma taught

But speak with dignity

Because that’s what’s in me

You can break a person down

With the words you say

You can even

Brighten someone’s day

Kill people with kindness

Is what the old folks say to do

Because it’s the best way

Since people don’t expect that from you

Negative output

Gives a negative return

So keep it positive

It’ll help others learn

That positive words

May change the course

Make people think

Instead of making things worse

Words can be a blessing

They can also be tragic

They can inspire

Or trick you, like magic

Use them wisely

Speaking things timely

Gathering careful thoughts

Before criticizing faults

So the next time you speak

Stay on a positive road

Because the tongue releases
