The Portals
Yesterday I died; today buried
Awoke in a dimly lit cave
Where am I? Is this Heaven or Hell?
Why am I here, out of my grave?
A voice from nowhere boomed out to me
Not Heaven nor Hell, but in between
Where you should go now, just isn’t clear
Pick the path to your eternal scene
Three large portals lie in front of me
Each a different eternity
A gateway to Heaven or to Hell
But what’s the third one; what can it be?
The booming voice rang out once again
The third portal removes all your life
History altered; you don’t exist
Never son, father or had a wife
My eternity is a gamble
Two of the three Portals, I dread
I slowly walked through the middle one
So frightened at what might be ahead
