The Port Full of Harbour Ships

'Pon Mt. Edgecumbe lies soft serve ice cream
Being surrounded by fuchsia lips
Wishfully gazed upon by a cobalt blue dream
Over the port full of harbor ships 

Colors of the sky predicting snow pretty ugly
The ice cream running down the mountain awfully good
Those waters in the harbor down deep bubbly
Teeming with jumbo shrimp and on the beach driftwood

Sitka, Alaska experiences each day's end
With a sky ending with special delights
Sky and earth seem to together blend
When day seems to slip into the dark night

I say painted as when I read it I envisaged a watercolour painted scene. The lines: "Sky and earth seem to together blend' and "The ice cream running down the mountain.." were key to my thinking here. I'll always smile too, when I hear the words "jumbo shrimp": An oxymoron if ever there was one. :) Nice work Sara! I have only been to Sitka, Alaska in photos from the internet and maybe through a movie or two that I have seen that said they were filmed in Alaska.
