The Pope Is Coming

Many people are sprucing up the Quaker City. Everything must appear clean and pretty. They anticipate the last weekend in September. That will be one all of Philadelphia will remember. Countless visitors will be Philly bound. Not one vacant hotel room in the city will be found. There may be some difficulty for commuters to get around. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority will be selling train passes to a select few by lottery. Restaurants and stores are expecting a boom in business. What do you think will be the cause of all of this? Philadelphia will be visited by Pope Francis.

Good rhyming here Robert and also communication, but the pope can't be bringing God, as he's already there..' maybe... I'm missing something but I just can't put my finger on it.' Oh yes they need God..'

His visit was all it was expected to be and more. I am not Catholic but I was very moved by what he shared and with his actions. He seems to have a divine connection with people of all faiths. I enjoyed your poem very much Robert. Good to read your poetry again. #7

It will be an amazing sight. I saw Pope John Paul when he visited Chicago in the 80's. The crowds were huge.I know there were upwards of a million people in Grant park. Good to see you Robert...Tim

What a spectacle that would be Robert - my parents were lucky enough to go to the Vatican and have a private audience with pope John Paul II - my father actually started training to be a catholic priest.. but from what I have been told in the end he would not commit ... :-) hugs jan xx
