The Pool
Sooner or later we all come to the same point in our life,
When we look purposefully into the pool,
To study the ripples, we have made in our lifetime,
And to relive the key moments,
Where things could have gone either way for us,
The moments that leave notes that will turn sour or retain their purity.
We would do well before we reach that point,
To take note of what those who reach the pool before us,
Are extracting in the way of regrets or high-fives.
Before all our key moments have come to pass,
With enable editing no longer an option on our file.
I have stood beside one or two who have made it to the pool before me,
Even held the hands of a few.
An experience I will never regret,
Though I came away with notes I did not expect,
On a common theme that stirred up ripples in my own part of the pool.
Who would have thought that in both regrets and high-fives?
That University life would feature to such a degree,
And that one University above all others is linked to so many key moments,
I am still pondering on that.
Maybe if more of you stand beside those already at the pool,
And tell me what you have seen and heard,
To give me more of a guide on how to up my grades in the University of life,
Before my final exam.
