The Politician
In his heart of stone,
And his tongue of bone,
Lies sit on the throne.
Peace shall not replace,
Whilst blood feeds the face.
"But hear me, you all:
Death is brief and small,"
Cried the sightless fool.
In his heart so white,
And his soul so light,
Truth and love shine bright.
Peace will find its way,
Dawn will chase the grey,
Turn from war’s bouquet,
Let your voice have grace,
Light will take its place.
