The Politician

THE POLITICIAN His weapon is not a sword but pen and ink and the spoken word. He needs no guns or knives. His weapon of choice is hidden behind a thin disguise. to spew hate and fear upon our lives as he shuts down democracy in a web of lies. His face may wear a smile but it’s made of tricks and guile. So, look sharp and stay awake. Your religion he wants to take and spin it in his clever way using and polluting it day by day. You have to look deep. Don’t fall asleep. He’s gathering poor fools like sheep. They'll do his bidding and keep him on his throne made of flesh and blood and bone. By: Carole O’Terry Duet Copyright: 2/22/2020 “All Rights Reserved”

Me either, Caren. In fact, there's a big difference between a politician and a statesman. Thanks for reading and commenting on "The Politician". Carole :D

Carole, you describe many a politician with these expressive lines of yours. Unfortunately, the good work done by honest politicians is overshadowed by those who seek personal gain and stick to shady agendas. ~ Warm regards // paul

G'day Carole … well done indeed. You point your finger at any politician but as they say, scum always rises to the top and that attracts the gullible - thank you Carole - Lindsay
