Elect me! I will serve you, absolutely
The rallying cry of promises
A double dose of opponent disparages
Not him, not her, they lie, badly, like cheap rugs
I'm your guy, I will help you, I got your back
Less tax, more health, safe schools, absolutely
Jobs for everyone, yes, you too, money coming in!
Ah, Mr. deviant lobbyist, sneaky conniving bastard
Sycophantic Uriah Heep, luring, wafting cash
Quid pro quo, bro, quid pro quo
Let me help you, Mr. Candidate, you got a shot with me
Promises, promises, promises, mounting up
Hook, line, and sinker right.
Give me my comfy seat, from it I can help you all
I will lead the charge, I am your champion, trust me
Sorry, I just couldn't get it thru, but oh I tried
Those horrible opposition people, they are your enemy
They are the bad guys, unno, not me, I am here for you
They lied to you big time, bastards. Not me though
I meant everything I said, I really did
Jobs, health for all of you, working on it

I peck away at them at the club, over dinner, for you

Get you mended when you need it, feed your kids
Kill those bad horrible guns, just like I said
