The Pointy End of a Triangle

I loved a woman who loved two men. She consumed me from the inside. There are times I remember back then. When she chose him it hurt my pride. She consumed me from the inside. I thought about her night and day. When she chose him it hurt my pride. It took all my courage to walk away. I thought about her night and day. A strange obsession that consumed my mind. It took all my courage to walk away. She baptized me in a love that made me blind. A strange obsession that consumed my mind. I deserved more than she was able to give. She baptized me in a love that made me blind. Now that the chains are gone I'm able to live. I deserved more than she was able to give. My moral compass helped me find the way. Now the chains are gone I'm able to live. Although she was amazing I could not be her slave. My moral compass helped me find the way. There are times I remember back then. Although she was amazing I could not be her slave. I loved a woman who loved two men. Hi Debbie, I gave it a try. I like my other poem so I am leaving that one as it was. Thanks for making me think about the form. Content inspired by Sarai Romani's poem "Morality is War"

Great style and use of form Richard. I randomly chose page 7 of the list of all your poems, then saw this one had 1111 reads; so I wanted to break that number up and be your 1112 reader lol. This seems a true story Richard, but maybe that's just my feeling. It's always great to read the writer's thoughts behind the scene.

For me I have to be in an exclusive relationship. I am thankful that I met my sweetie and I could never share her in that way.

Been there a few times myself. Well, their loss...thankfully, and this is most important, you became stronger & wiser from it. Many "men" lose their identity when in a similar situation. Very nicely done!

Thanks Drake. In the moment it felt like the end of the world.

I like the 'pointy end' theme. When you divide your attentions too many ways you lose focus entirely.

What a great Pantoum Richard...The hard part is getting over the obsession. We don't think we can live without that person in our lives but the reality is we are better off without them.

Thanks for the help Deb, kind of like learning to drive a car, the initial drive is a bit awkward until you stop thinking and start feeling the vehicle.

Fascinating read Richard loved the repetition of the lines - really powerfully constructed with an interesting lesson in morality. Hugs Jan x
