The Poet

I sing songs to memories.
Some tunes triumphant,
like that of the pirate king.
Others be useless to bear.
Poems are effigies,
from reductions and shadows.

But sometimes the hand
is blessed by miracle.
And the verse more
perfect, proper, and true -
than any of you.
Far more true than the sun.
Even more true than death.
That poem moves the world.

It's a very nice poem. I didn't notice any errors or things I would change. Well done:)

Hi Seth! If you would like to know, here's how I would re-write your poem: 4th line: Some are too useless to hear. 5th and 6th lines: Some are effigies burned in the shadows of my mind. Then I would leave out: than any of you and replace it with: like my memories of you. Then I would put: Warm as the sun, Cool as the moon, As sure as life and death. You are the poem that moves my world. Ok, Seth. You asked for it but you don't have to use it. It's just me not being able to resist teaching!
