The Poet

I tell a Friend she is no poet
But, Heck who am I to judge her and she knows it,

Her poetry is about truth and comes from the heart
what I write doesn't even make sense and just falls apart,

I tell her that her words are a stretch
My Poems aren't even worth reading because there is always a catch,

Even though I try hard to be Poetic
The poems I write seem to get more and more pathetic,

I must agree that my friend really does have a gift
That I can only dream of so it will give me a lift.

Your poems are worth reading as YOU wrote them and they are unique to you and your style. We all write differently in our own particular way - that is what makes reading and writing poetry so exciting:-) Hugs Jan xx

Glad she is a 'used to be friend' - I write for one person and that is ME If people like what I pen and comment great - if they don't then they simply don't have to read anymore:-) Hugs Jan xxx
