The Pitiless Drosera

But lo! What creature to my clutches wings
Attracted by fallacious promises
And curious to taste my sweet delights?
My scarlet beauty fashioned to bewilder
Shall tantalize this unsuspecting prey
And cause the wretch to plunge into my depths.
I’ll suck him to a vortex of despair
And suffocate by my tenacious grasp,
Then ruthlessly eviscerate;
For by such means survival is procured.

( In case anyone is worried about my state of mind : 'Drosera', commonly known as the sundews, is one of the largest genera of carnivorous plants!)

Wow! you have painted a very vivid picture of the subject matter. Wonderful personification, dear Wendy.

Thanks for your witty retort! I'm absolutely harmless but watch out for those insectivorous plants! Unfortunately it was too late for the 8 word competition but I thought I'd post it anyway.
