The Pink Birdhouse

A pink birdhouse hangs
    Mother bird laid her eggs
    The eggs hatched babies
     The mother bird searches
      for food
      Leaving her babies
      Alone they chirp they
      are hungry
      The black squirrel hears sounds
      It stops looks inside
      Then he rushes inside

      The little babies screams
      The mother bird returns
      Chasing the black squirrel
      away from the nest
      She sees some babies
      dead
      With the babies left
      She takes them to safety
      To a safer nest
      Away from the squirrel
      Now the squirrel builds
      her nest
      In the pink birdhouse

It is so enjoyable to see a mother bird nurturing her offsprings in a nest. Sad the squirrel came and killed some of the birdlings. Beautiful narration.

Hello Valsa, Valsa, that squirrel is still living in the pink bir/dhouse. I find that very strange. The bird is a good mother to her babies. Thank you for the lovely comment. Hugs./Darlene

poor mummy bird and remaining babies, the squirrel certainly has its sights on the this family for mealtimes. The animal kingdom like the humankind eat meat like cows and sheep, and that is exactly what the squirrel is doing. BLESSINGS AND HUGS DEAR FRIEND.

WoW Darlene. Few of us have ever thought of a squirrel being an enemy for birds and their nests. However a squirrel is a rodent so I guess he can be. A lesson in nature. Sometimes it can be cruel. Well written and well described my friend. A good read. God Bless, JB

Oh so sad about the babies lost. The squirrel took over the birdhouse. They can be so bold in many ways. You wrote this story so well and showed how she took her babies to safety. Well done.:)
