“The pensive poet broods in nights` silence,
Trying to read the inner light`s brilliance,
Glean from it the essence of human life,
The real worth of a man`s daily strife
And strives some verses to carve on the soul
In a bid to share them with the wide world..”- By Author.

The pensive poet ponders, his brow creased,
A quiet room, where deep thoughts do not cease;
He peers within, a labyrinth of depth,
Where subtle secrets silently are kept.
He reflects hard on the essence of life,
On its goals, its drive and man`s daily strife,
A flicker bright, a flame that will not die,
Beneath the stars, beneath the moon lit sky.
The poet muses on this mystic core,
That opens portals, asks for evermore,
He wonders whether it`s a flitting light
Or something born and everlasting bright.
He asks himself whether human body
Is made of flesh and bones or embodies
An invisible immutable soul
That at last day`s end merges with the Whole.
He stares at the world, its shines, shapes and sound,
And wonders where this vital soul is found,
Within the pulse, the breath that fills the chest,
Or in the dreams that put the mind to rest.
The poet feels a kinship, strange and true,
Towards every soul, regardless of hue,
Wishes to soar to the sky on his wing,
Finds pleasures, in joys that the seasons bring.
He questions truth, the path we need to tread,
Probes the past when the Lord`s only Son bled
To recall what happened so long ago,
And forge new futures, planning seeds to grow.
He mules over the soul, a constant guide,
Where does it go, when earthly days subside,
A river flowing to a boundless sea,
Forever part of what will always be.
He finds no response, neat and clearly spun,
No single string to sway when all is done;
But in the deep search, in the soppy sigh,
He senses himself soaring to the sky.
Following his deep musings in the night,
He keys some verses on the inner light
Which glitter with glow on his laptop`s screen
That only by his own self can be seen.
The intense feeling sensed or knowledge gained,
He strives to share and the world to attain,
In case intent souls, to peruse may wish
Or the beauty of poetry do cherish.
