The Pendulum of Life

I am on the pendulum of life.
It is swinging slowly.
But with determined
Heaviness.

It is my job
To lighten it up or
Party-ize it.
To make it more
Human as it swings
With wide arcs

Through the swamp of life.
I see the crocodiles
Waiting for me to
Fall off, so I can
Be either

Immediately devoured or
Preserved in the cold water
To be eaten later.

And I laugh

Thank you Kate. I have to laugh at myself often, in order to keep my sensibilities in tact.
