The Pen

When I was young, I wrote a story about good and evil
At 8 years old, the words on paper began to spill
I just couldn’t understand, all the bad happening 
I was learning not to trust too fast, as if spinning!
The woods were scary, so much bad happened there
I also wrote about those woods, dark everywhere
This is when the pen gained strength and helped me!
You see, it continues to today and always will be
Writing is a tool that can bring miracles to the soul
By turning tragic things into good, making life whole
It is a big part of my life for as long as I am here
It stays with me as I face, every single fear!
