The Pause

l smiled, my last smile, as I walked across the room. My mind was on fire, like a summer sun in June. I cried when I left you, so much despair. Yet lost and confused, no time to repair. So I sat down and counted my blessings once more, and I realized that moment, A block in my soul. For love is a wave we must ride to the end. Sometimes we are on top, sometimes head in the sand. I knew when we met there'd be many rows to hoe, but today I must say that I'm happier at home.
