I'll let you in on a little secret: I'm pretty picky about haiku, and it's my opinion that not many on this site know how to write a proper one. That being said, I like the mood you observed here: the grounded cloud being pierced by the pine trees is such a cool image. My only critique (and not many would agree with me here) is that I think haiku should be untitled.

I'm picky too, and you are right, traditional haiku is title-less. I think my language still a little too flowery too. Nor is 5/7/5 a prerequisite either, but when in Rome... I would not try to pull this off in Japan. I do love the challenge of writing haiku, and would say very few of mine are really that good or true. More just free verse packaged in a ku box.
