The Other Shoe

Hurricanes can happen; Flights can get delayed. You can never really count On plans you might have made. Viruses can catch you; Traffic bog you down. Roads may close when politicians Travel to your town. Never think disaster Is a thing you can avoid, Though to worry ‘bout it constantly Would make you paranoid. Still, when life is going smoothly And you feel like you’re on top, It’s realistic to expect that soon The other shoe will drop.

The saying, the other shoe will drop, is something I say often. True, it is morose, but a good warning. This is a cute poem.

Not an expression I’d heard before, Ilene. Googled it and yup, I make you about right! Enjoyable and educational all at once. Terry
