Notes About The Poem

The Osprey

The majestic osprey swooped down for a trout.
My husband could only shake his fist and shout!
The poor osprey was startled and fled,
But not before dropping the trout on his head!

Love this, Brenda - very charming and whimsical! I did an 80-page term paper on ospreys as freshman in high school, so I'm very fond of the subject, too ... that was 1972 and they were nearing extinction. Congrats on the win! :-)

Thank you Greg! That must have been a fascinating term paper. I love watching them, even though they used to drive the husband crazy getting his trout. The kingfisher were notorious too.
