The Original Don

Today black wears the fin
For a man who knew how to win
After Broadway Joe proved the AFL was tough
By showing he looked good in panty hose and the buff
Miami put on the heat
Being very hard to beat
Greasing up the mercury on the beach
Super Bowl rings were in reach
Conference was the American League’s new stage name
Bringing entertaining fluff to the athletic game
A colorful peacock style
Captured and confirmed images for the football footage file
Don Shula crossed the grid iron waters
Into South Florida
The original Don
Waved his magical wand
And the tourist paradise caught on
With its oceanic feel
AFC respect was sealed
Mr. Shula we will miss you
And won’t forget your input in the NFL merger issue
