The Only 'sir' He Deserved Should Have Been Serving Time In Prison

Great job, Jan. This was a tough contest, and your write shone through. This guy really gives me the creeps. He seems like Pee Wee Herman on steroids after he stopped greasing and coloring his hair, eh?..Or maybe an athletic version of Rod Blagoevich, the sleazy ex-Illinois governor, whose dark pompadour has turned 'snow-white' in prison....Congrats on your winner. :) Gershon

Thanks Greg, I do surprise with a more serious poem. I wrote this and didn't post it for about a week I found the subject matter so difficult. Public opinion is strong and it would be wonderful if he could be stripped of his title. :-) hugs jan xx

God knows. This could be in one of those slam rhyme contests, too. Sick man and subject, but your well rhymed and crisp lines once again delight the delivery of your poem and make your point all the more convincingly. I was in 2 minds about writing for the contest but he was a vile evil paedophile who used his celebrity status to abuse so many innocent children and adults - over 200 people have said he abused them - sadly he died before he could spend the rest of his life rotting in jail:-( hugs Jan xx

Heartuly agree, Jan, a couple of pals of mine were abused by our local Parish priest in the '70s, he went on the run but has been jailed. One of my buddies got financial recompense but is a total wreck, can't hold down a relationship or a job. A life sentence. Good luck in the contest. Viv x

I saw and read, it is sad. There isn't enough money in the world to buy one's childhood innocence back. Surely there is a special hell or karma for these sick, twisted people. Sorry for your friends, Viv, for our world.

I found it such a difficult subject to write about Line, there have been several other celebrities like Ralph Harris and Gary Glitter who are serving prison sentences, Jimmy Saville died before he was bought to justice :-( hugs jan xx

Well said Jan , how in Gods name was he allowed to get away with it for so long , If you ask me they were all at it and sadly it still goes on , teachers, pop stars, vicars, scout masters, MPs , the list is endless. Good luck in the contest. Tom

Thanks Tom, from what I've read it seems the abuse was known about for many years but covered up ... and sadly as you say it still goes on to this day. shame he died before he was bought to justice but to retain his sir title is a travesty but i dont think they are able to do anything about it. hugs jan xx
