I like this. When I saw the title I just had to take a look. My grandmothers were giving like this grandma, and so is the adopted grandma I have now. I hope you win.

Jennifer, I am glad that you had the good experience with some wonderful grandmothers and have an adopted grandmother now. Our nursing homes here used to have adopt a grandmother. The children in some organizations of the church or in Scots would pick a name then go see these ladies and do things for them. Sometimes it worked out really well and sometimes not so good. Thanks for stopping by. Sara

I didn't really have the 'grandma' experience growing up, having lost them both when I was very young, this is so sweetly nostalgic, best wishes for the contest, Sara~

Michelle, I know you would have enjoyed having a grandma but alas some of us did not get to experience it for ourselves. Thanks for the visit and sharing and wishes of good luck. Sara

Andrea, My memories are about the mother who adopted me when I was 18 months old. Her mother was deceased. She died of cancer at a somewhat young age. My adoptive father's mother had dementia. She was not up doing things with grandchildren when I came along. I remember her and she was kind to the children but she was just an onlooker. Sara

my grandma gave us dinners, but that is about all. I was never close to her. Even when I spent a few nights there, she just did not talk to us kids. I bet you have many more fond memories!

Andrea, No, I did not have memories of a grandma because my mother's mother was deceased and my father's mother had dementia. I am basing my memories on my adoptive mother who had a grandson when they got me then four years later had a granddaughter. She did a lot of kind things for her grandson and her children as long as she was able to cook. I have a few memories of my biological paternal grandmother. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Birth mother or not, it’s womanly maternal love. A fabulous Double Tetractys Sara, in memories of the past... Belle

Belle, Thanks for the kind review of my work. Yes, most of the time a woman and some men have this character but some women don't at all. Sara

SS, I am glad that we chose the same picture. I think that maybe says we think alike. Although, I did like the picture or artist rendition of the Scottie dog. He looked so comfy lying on that couch. Thanks for dropping by. Sara
