The One I Love

To see the one I love
Come walking down the street
Wets all my soul with appetite
Just knowing that we'll meet.

And then to feel his warm approach
He leans to bring a kiss
I swear I've never known this sense
It's ecstacy, it's bliss.

His arms embrace and steal my heart
With strength and tenderness
I know this truth, this part of life,
With him I have been blessed.

Alas, the lock that holds me in
To look in to his eyes
I cannot move or breathe or sigh
I'm his until I die

And yes you should be wondering
How well I know these things,
Since he and I are just good friends
Ah, yes twas just a dream.
