The One

was unaware that I was in the war,
Enemies surrounded, I stumbled on their traps.
Somehow, managed by time and effort,
For he showed his power, his strength in my defense.

Facing the foes, alone but not alone,
Miracles of survival, day by day.
Even now, the war rages on,
But he is the one, guiding me.

In that moment, realization dawned,
I felt the burden, the battle to face.
Day after day, loneliness my companion,
Sacrifice and pain, tears and illness.

My soul, near to giving up,
Yet I fought on, the battle my own.
Here comes the twist, in the same field,
Faith renewed, armor gifted and strong.

He is the one, his guidance my source,
No longer alone, his presence my shield.
In this war, I stand not by myself,
For he is with me, now and always.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
