The old tree sags beside the lake initials curved into its thick trunk all written there for love's sake children from school here do bunk Now near its final end its branches wither-ring for itself left to fend its soul now ascending written by Shadow motif nature new poem written 03/18/2014 contest impress me with a small poem

Hi Shadow. I love your poem. I love trees, A lot of them have a story story behind them. There is a Spanish song - When the tree was young and beautiful everybody went there for shade, now that it is old and bare - they forget once they shaded there. Thanks for this poem.
