The Old Man Is Snoring
Pounding, drenching, teeming rain
Is coming down so fast
The flowers on my brand-new mum
Are gone; I’d hoped they’d last.
The downpours seem to alternate
With lulls of less intent
But don’t be fooled - the pace will soon
Renew our discontent.
Some places have tornado scares;
For us, some floods may flow.
It’s raining and it’s pouring;
The old man is snoring so!
