Notes About The Poem

The Now Continuum

Line of inquiry:
“since thoughts speak in past tenses,

drop mind, rely on senses,

embracing and releasing,

pain pangs and pleasure pleasing”
———————————————————
Some look back despite shades of black
Or rose colored glasses and liquid laughs
But I was always the odd one
Living as if under water everything distorted

So while they look back I look ahead
Doing mental math despite the dead
Look in my eyes like I’ve lived before
Or that be lived in the past with no history

Not a mystery to be solved
I dream forward full steam forward
Desperate to evolve into my final form
Wishing to be a Buddha born

Embracing and releasing
Chasing and seeking enlightenment
Bound by flesh and blood
In more than one book of life

Pain pangs in the form of blue rain
I splash madly in it as if sane
Letting the darkness drain my vein
Hoping the sharpness ends my pain

Pleasure pleasing never too long
I think my calling is too strong
What if the universe’s neon song
Made me a comma but I want to go on

Nothing starts or ends with me

Really? Perhaps I view it starting and ending with the Creator. Thanks for reading William.
