The Night Sky
The Sky closes it`s eye lids
As Zephyr whistles slowly to keep it awake,
The stars illuminate and expose the sky,
Birds of prey move in unison preparing for a feast,
Even though they are not from the east.
Beneath, the river remains calm
And suddenly the silent is broken
By the choir-tadpoles,crickets and toads,
Not faraway…Nocturnal beings prepare for hunting,
‘howling’ of the wolf, ’rattling and hissing’ of snakes.
The evil doers plan their exploits,
While others are in deep sleep,
They gather under the Iroko or Oak for their routine,
'Carnassial teeth out and claws out'
Whether they are carnivores or cannibals , it`s hard to tell;
But, there is blood in their mouths more than vampires.
Night sky covers nakedness of many,
As sex hawkers beckon on their clients
And terrorists perpetuate their evil plans,
I look at the sky with fear!
Fear of nightmares and the news tomorrow.
