The Night

Oh how the sun falls fast asleep when the moon in your eyes calls upon the darkness for a stroll in the night, oh how the clouds part from the horizon, when the wind in your breath sweeps away the imperfection for a starry heaven And in the moment where pulses meet locked in a lover's grip, with the tapping of toes on the cement floor, the night became our own Whisper things ears have never heard before And with the black of night and the moonlit white gaze at me and see a glow of color, summer is our time, and time is still in ticking hours and the stillness is our chance to dance, the world a swirl of ghostly glance and the night is ours my love, the night is ours spinning and twirling our images haze and meld in one, a crystal rainbow against the blackest stone the quietest quartet of crickets crept to croon their tune to our awaiting souls in solitude hours And in the moment our eyes became blankets to the whirling world we slept inside of each other Whisper things ears have never heard before and with the black of night and the moonlit white gaze at me and see a glow of color, summer is our time, and time is still in ticking hours and the stillness is our chance to dance, the world a swirl of ghostly glance and the night is ours my love, the night is ours
