Seven-Ten
I invented this form and call it (Seven-Ten), (meant to be centered). There should be a distinctive look. A non rhythm, twenty two line blank verse poem with (190 Syllables) with the following count -7 7 10 10 10 7 7 10 10 10 7 7 10 10 10 7 7 10 10 10 7 7
Do you fear what is coming
does the future frighten you?
Earth is entering a whole new cycle,
for Greenland's glaciers are destined to melt
and all that water needs someplace to go.
Climate change is here to stay,
no matter what skeptics say.
Global warming has encompassed the Earth,
Nature doesn't adhere to Man's boundaries
when She chooses to rearrange planets.
We are running out of time,
yet far too few seem to care.
These climatic changes are happening;
it's out of the realm of might or could be,
and it's a process that can't be reversed!
We are the generation
that'll feel its impact begin.
It won't be long before it all goes wrong
subtle climate changes are first to show,
but they'll ultimately overwhelm us.
Must the next generation
shoulder this burden alone?
