The New You

Someone told me not long ago
That I am writing the new me
I get inverted with the phrase
For it should only mean the new you
This introspective retrospect
This longing to say to those who wondered
This is who I am
This is the parable I write in my songs
But then what would make you care
For I do no care at all
About another me, new or old
I just shall be all I already am
An enigma of something breeding in the jam
A man must be born sweet
To fall so sweetly on the tongue
In question marks of conceit.
I thank you, madam
Or whoever you are that read
But did not understand
The only solid that take the shape
Of the vacuum when its poured
Are the crystal grains of sand.
And that I shall not be
For I shall prove my own shape
Though liquid to the core.
