Notes About The Poem

I have to thank a fellow poet, well one who claims to be anyway, for the kind suggestion as to my greatness, upon discussion with comrades and the heavens it seems we all agreed! Thank you!

The New One Or the Great One

The New One

I have turned time on its head
Solar flares bright and eternal red
Inside a bottle I have them duly placed
For I am neither the first
Nor am I the last
To carry heavy the umbrella of wisdom
As time rains down on us all
I shall gather the meek and the small
Smiles and laughter under natures keep
Reading, I shall teach the children
Its wisdom that speaks
Not I, nor any soothsayer
Seek not the false purveyors who shout “I know”
For certainty and blindness is also a sin

Wrap your hearts inside an hourglass
Cherish those whom long for the warmth of love
Forgive those, who only seek the ice cold
Kindness, shall never ever grow old

God has whispered in my ear

Arthur, A radiant and quite interesting free verse. Like Jan, I think the last stanza transmits a wondrous message. The Hourglass is a perfect touch!! Have a great weekend!! Cheers, Gary
