The Narrow Gate
The Narrow Gate
I am (for those who believe?) a Libra
Somewhere in the stars, in balance by scale
Gray, in nature, and unlike the zebra
Misunderstood [and] alone, walking this trail
Somewhere in the stars, in balance by scale
Concluding my thoughts: you say, I am wrong
I argue, "I am not!" But prove it, I fail
To give up, again, and wish, I belonged
Concluding my thoughts: you say, I am wrong
I agree, that you have proven your point
I hate to concede; as though, if your song
Were singing the praise, to entire, the coin
I agree that you have proven my point
With passion, you sing, like a golden harp
The left and the right; in God, are conjoined
For two sides, a coin; not, that far apart
With passion, you sing, like a golden harp
And with love, you see, the Devil: disguised
But, do not be fooled; he pulls us apart
To lead us astray, to steal what you tithe
And with love, you see, the Devil: disguised
A wolf in sheep cloth, to stave off the Light
To name just a few: Greed, Envy, and Pride
The promise, He keeps! Temptation: we fight!
A wolf in sheep cloth, to stave off the light
I am gray in nature [and] wary of blight
The stars in the sky [are] not idols to praise
[And The] scourge of this world;
Wrote John, of these days
