The Mystic Bard

Moon, a playful bard casts a winking eye To shy blinking stars playing hide and seek Reciting his incantations on high Flirting in the night glimpsing far to peek At lovers of the night rapt by romance Entranced by quixotic dreams too urging Eclipsing the light in shadows to dance A hidden soiree, lovers converging Swirling and twirling in circles delight Neath the lunar poet's grand minstrel song Beguiled by this sweet and glorious night Captured by the rapture, two hearts belong The moon is a bard a mystic with spells For lovers who wish their stories to tell January 11, 2020 English Sonnets Poetry Contest Sponsored by Emile Pinet
