The Mystery of Egypt

The glory that was Greece; the grandeur that was Rome. The mystery of Egypt and the Pharaohs' giant tombs. A Sphinx-cat guards all treasures past in Ancient Egypt's land Today the Sphinx bears witness to miles and miles of sand. Glory faded, dessication ~ Pharaohs' pyramidal desecration Iambic Pentameter

I have been fascinated with so many things about ancient Egypt, but prefer to learn about it fro afar, as I do not think they would like an assertive woman who speaks her mind as hard as I do. I like your iambic pentameter poem, my friend.

Yes, and it has fascinated me as well... Although it's about the last place on earth I'd ever go, besides Iran, N. Korea, Iraq or Afghanistan. (I don't go where I'm not wanted and/or actively hated. I have enough problems already). :) gw

Empires come and go but would love to see them all close up( the pyramids and tombs) but sadly not the safest place these days. Tom.

I see you are getting your Poe on today (as in Edgar Allen, that is) although I wonder if 'pyramidal' is an actual word?

Pyramidal is, of course, a word. It rhymes with 'in the middle.' :) gw
