The Mountain

The mountain stares at me every day
Sometimes I stare back
But like Medusa it will freeze you in your tracks
every time.

The mountain
yes.
it stares at me
 everyday
Sometimes I stare back
But just like with people
I tend to avoid eye contact
Is it because of my shame?

The mountain stares at me
Yes
tall, glorious
Covering the sun
What did I do to be
such a fortunate one?

The mountain
Stares at me
At day
And at night
Snow covered, dry, or lush
Will you come see it with me?
After all you're my crush

Then the mountain can
Stare at you too
And I wouldn't be the only one so lucky
Your presence would make me
even luckier

I'd have something to rival
The mountains beauty.
Every day the mountain stares at me.
Beautifully.
But I wish it was you.
Everyday.
